Hi all,
Clear night this morning. Spectrum of Nova Sag #2 with CDK 24 (0.61m) - LISA - Atik 460 ccd. Had to reduce exposure to 15 sec so as not to saturate the H alpha line. Total 6 min (15 sec x 24). Prior spectrum poor quality due to heavy haze and clouds.

I have been following the nova as often as weather permits. The blue wing of hydrogen lines are evolving rapidly with marked blue shift. This was also noticed by Paolo. See my quick graphs from spectra over last 2 weeks. Very interesting changes!! These are from LISA spectrograph.

Hi, last 2 nights have been cloudy. Tonight after storms past got a 40 min clearing, just enough the get a spectrum of Nova Del 2013. Below my plot of the spectrum. Wonder when the Balmer series will stop rising??

Observed the nova tonight using F-10 focal length of Meade 10 inch telescope. This dramatically sharpens the line detail shortward of 4000 angstroms. Only bad part is it takes 3x more exposure. My spectra from tonight also shows dramatic changes to the blue part of spectrum.

My latest spectra from Aug 17, 2013 with 25cm telescope - LISA - Atik 460ccd. The spectrum has changed significantly over the past several days.

Re: PNV J20233073+2046041 mag 6.8
Tonight was clear and free from the dense forest fire smoke I had last night. Could see the nova easily and it nearly saturated the ccd in 20 sec exposure. Took new spectrum tonight with 25 cm Meade. See attached.

Re: PNV J20233073+2046041 mag 6.8
Hi All, It turns out that the very thick haze I was imaging the nova through last night was infact dense smoke from local forest fires. The sun rose this am dark cherry red. So I suspect that the blue portion of my spectra may not have a good instrument response. I suspect that the smole filtered ou...

Re: PNV J20233073+2046041 mag 6.8
Hi all, I made an attempt at the new Nova Del 2013 tonight under very thich haze. Could hardly see the star Altair while imaging the nova. I took 30 minutes with LISA and Atik 460 through a C8 telescope. This is what I got. I am not sure how accurate the continunm is given the very bad transparency....
