Re: Betelgeuse

Hi James and others,

I transfered James' last post in Software/Spcaudace section:
http://www.spectro-aras.com/forum/viewt ... 757#p13757

EW measurement will follow there.

About EW measurement (message from James Foster)

I transfert here a message from James Foster about EW measurement: by James Foster » Sat Feb 08, 2020 2:06 am To: Benjamin, Yes I should have used the spc_ew for absorption lines....I did this, but disregarded the results. Here is what I have for my three (3) Alpha Orion spectra taken with the Lhire...

Re: Betelgeuse

About EW measurement with SpcAudace, James worked with spc_autoew. This is not a good idea here, with such a noisy continuum. You need here to controle how continuum is fited. This can be achieved with "spc_ew" command that accepts continuum fiting parameters. Usage with examples can be fo...

Re: Binaire spectro

Salut Etienne ?

Re: Resolving Power in SPcAudace

Hi Erik,

There has been an inversion between low resolution andd hight resolution case in spc_resolution computation.
Now the issue is fixed. I found R=13569 for HD201733 and R=12688 for HD22780.
You can download the patch (spc_calibrage.tcl).

Cheers,

Benji

Re: Resolving Power in SPcAudace

Bess export windows doesn't measure the RP, it just reads it from fits header. To check if the patchs solve your issue, you have to process spectra with the patchs intalled. At the end of pipeline, RP and many other informations are printed in Audela's Console. Theses infos are also sotred in fits h...

Re: Betelgeuse

Integration's limits for EW compuation have to be the wavelength were line cross the local continuum.
That's why Spcaudce computes a continuum for EW computation.
This continuum has a important influence in EW value.

Re: Betelgeuse

Hi James, Your path (directories where fits file are stored) and files name must not contain characteres such as space, accents, etc. This is described here: http://spcaudace.free.fr/installation.php#conseils This directory's name has to be corrected: "ALL Processed Spectra_BeSS Check". Af...
