Re: eShel calibration set-up

I've gotten by check3 as perfectly aligned as possible; see:

Re: eShel calibration set-up

To: Joan

Thanks for your useful feedback all these years! Yes, I'm not at "prime" exposure due to keeping the eshel out of the
"wine-cooler." The coolest I can go is -5 on the ASI2600mm with a fan running close by, because my garage is almost 27C now.

I do not want to place the eshel in the ...

Re: eShel calibration set-up

Its almost 9 months latter and I've made much progress on getting my eShel functional.
The problem noted in the beginning:"...I should proceed further seeing that the right-side of the frame has such badly trailed Th-Ar light on these orders."

I determined that the eshel's fiber optic collimator ...

Re: Offset slit calculation tool

To: Peter,

Nice python app! I'm just learning the program for a seperate project, flare star monitoring and computing total flux energy when the
star flares up.

I dont have a UVEX (yet!) but when I use my Alpy600 or LISA-IR spectrascopes, I always try to set the continuum right in the center

Re: eShel calibration set-up

To: Olivier,

RE:"At Shelyak, we've tested a wide range of lenses, and only the 135mm Samyang lens gives good results."

According to the Christian's write-up, the Samyang lens only work to about 4000A; anything shorter is absorbed...plastic
internal lens? He uses the excellent (but no longer ...

eShel calibration set-up

To: Group,

I've finally got a replacement Cmos camera for use on the eShel; saving the FF Zwo ASI6200mm for other astro imaging.
I'm using a Zwo ASI2600mm cmos camera and have roughly focused it with the 135mm Canon camera at F/2 ontop of the
Shelyak eShel. Here is an image from the camera using ...
