Re: Using the ALPY200

To: Robin,

Thanks for the helpful hints at successfully using the Alpy in 200 mode. Hope to configure mine after the winter clouds go away and do some test with my Alpy600 on the CDK at F/4.5.

Re: New Alpy 200 spectrograph

Thanks for the "heads-up" Olivier and the great presentation from Robin.....ordered mine at the end of the Zoom meeting, and received the Alpy200 module 4 days latter! Can't wait to see how "dim" I can go with my CDK17 at F/4.5 with this!

Nice work! Inspires me to get my eShel2 up and running when all my bad weather

To: All

Rho Cas looks like a nice target for eShel2 work at 4.2-6mag.

Re: A modification for improve eShel spectrograph

To: Joan, Sorry for the late reply. I was in the middle of selling and buying a house this May-June and now I'm more settled down. I don't have a quick answer, but I will take the eShel commissioning-up as soon as I construct my new location's roll-of-roof for my CDK17. My Sky is much darker (I'm 15...

Re: First starlight for my new echelle

To: Joan, Thanks for the careful explanation. RE"....you can note that one135mm. needs 2.52 times exposure than a 85mm. one to reach the same theoretical results...." Maybe this is why I show less light on orders below 55 than your custom made spectrograph. Yet in Christian's report, he wa...

Re: First starlight for my new echelle

Nice work Joan! Is there any reason you chose not to use the faster Canon 135 F/2 lens? Not that Nikon is bad, but I think Christian fully vetted the Cannon for good UV penetration with the ehel. Also, are you using a optical fiber in your latest data? I like the transmission you get with "dire...
