Hello from Venice, Italy

Post by Elisabetta Artusi »

Hello everyone,

we are a group of four amateur astronomers from Venice, Italy. In the last few years, we’ve been studying emission-line stars taken mainly from the Kohoutek-Wehmeyer 1997 catalogue (KW97).

Initially we did a photometric survey with our 40 cm telescope and the AAVSO Net telescopes, after which we published a paper on the AAVSO Journal (Artusi E., Conselvan G., Tegon A., Zardin D., 2016, JAVSO, 44, 149). Then, thanks to the help of the Astrophysics Observatory of Asiago, we started a spectroscopic survey of a sample of Be stars with a 122 cm telescope; although we hope to continue the collaboration with Asiago in the future, we don’t have such certainty. We now have almost 150 reduced spectra of which we are analysing the emission variations and line profiles.

We would be happy to share our data and possibly have new spectra. We would also like to discuss about these topics and collaborate on a common project with whoever may be interested.

Thank you,

Hi Elisabetta and Others,

Very interesting collective program.
Do you have spectra of symbiotic stars in data set?

Ciao!

Hi Elisabetta and all,

Did you have some Be stars spectra ?

If yes, you can submit your spectra in the Bess database :
http://basebe.obspm.fr/basebe/

There are more than 220,000 spectra in this database and you can download spectra as you want.

Hi Francois and Oliver,

we have several Be spectra and probably a few symbiotic ones, but we have to check whether our data follow the Bess database requirements. We hope to be able to upload them soon and start a collaboration with a Be enthusiast!

Have a nice day,

Hi
Welcome Elisabetta

If you register to the yahoo group spectro-l then you will receive the BeSS monthly report activity :)

And check the ArasBeAM portal to see what's beeing observed by the Be Stars amateur community around BeSS.
http://arasbeam.free.fr/

I hope you can convert your spectra into BeSS format... it will be valuable. And contact the following email adress for any questions/support:
