MWC560 = V694 Mon reappears in the morning sky sky.
The star is still very bright. Mag V = 8.8 on Sept. 8.8
Margarita Karovska have submitted observations from Chandra+HST+XMM and request visible spectra asap.

Fresh results from this morning:
After shooting H-beta (2 x 600 sec), quickly switched to the H-alpha region (1 x 600 sec, sun background could be substracted easily):
It looks to be continuing in similar state as this year spring.-

Yes, only weak absorptions at moderate velocities (-200 to -250 km/s for HI)

V694 Mon spectra in support to HST FUV/NUV observation
A request forwarded by Adrian Lucy (fruitful collaboration on Symbiotics powered accreted and search for new symbiotics stars):
Fred Bruhweiler and Bruce McCollum (cc'd) have secured some HST time to look at the FUV/NUV spectrum of V694 Mon (=MWC 560). The observations are scheduled for 23 October 14:50 to 18:55 GMT.
They were hoping for at least one simultaneous spectrum of the optical absorption lines (at least H-alpha, but e.g. the other Balmer lines would be great too).
There are a lot of observers who like this target (http://www.astrosurf.com/aras/Aras_Data ... 694Mon.htm), most recently Peter, and it would be great to get a feel for the status of the optical lines and their variability within a day or so of the observation.
But it would be *especially* nice to get exactly simultaneous observations, which would require observers in Australia, Japan, Korea, or elsewhere in Asia (or maybe Hawaii, though that'd be pushing it).
Even one spectrum during the HST observations 23 October 14:50 to 18:55 GMT would be extremely useful. Of course, the UV observations will be time-tagged, so if anyone has some extra spare time on their hands, it could also be interesting (but certainly not mandatory) to just sit on the target for a few hours and track variability in the optical lines.
Spectra at low resolution (LISA, ALPY, ...) and high (Echelle, Lhires, L200 ...), (in amateur sense ) resolution are very welcome from 22 to 24th of October. They will to appreciate the variability of the system around the scheduled HST observation.
For Lhires ... : H alpa, H beta and the Fe II (42) multiplets
Current Vmag = 8.9

2019.10.20 morning, with LHires III + 600/mm + 35 micron slit + ATIK 428 + 300/1200 Newton (+ APM 2.67x barlow), variable sky:
- H-alpha @ R~2500
- He/Ne (~5800A) region @ R~2000=
- H-beta @ R~1800
Not much change within a month at this resolution, except H-alpha changed somewhat: Velocity view (Balmer - logarithmic): Beware, colors not maching across graphs! (noticed later)
All intensities are relative, no flux.
Next switching to 2400/mm grating (allows H-alpha @ R~13000, or H-beta @ R~8500 with wider coverage).
Being on vacation next week + weather looks promising, so planning repeats on workdays.

- 5 x 10 min. H-beta (R ~ 9000, 4817 - 4961A), includes Fe I emissions + He I 4922 absorption

I also just acquired this fresh spectrum of V694 Mon with my LISA. This is 22 120sec exposures. I am still taking more exposures up until daylight. Also I have simultaneous VBand data for that last nearly two hours.
