request for spectrum - AT2019gbt in UGC 4772

Post by Robin Leadbeater »

I have received request for a spectrum of possible supernova AT2019gbt in UGC 4722 from Prof Subo Dong (ASAS-SN).
https://wis-tns.weizmann.ac.il/object/2019gbt
He reports it is currently brighter than mag 16 and the host is low redshift so it could get brighter
Would anyone like to try? (It is at low alt here and it does not get dark at this time of year so probably not possible for me)

Cheers

It is brightening and still has not been confirmed/classified.

It is tough (low on the horizon early evening) but that is probably why there is no pro confirmation. If you can get a spectrum good enough for a classification (even a noisy low resolution spectrum can be good enough) I can submit it with your name as observer/classifier in TNS using my account or guide you though signing up for an account.
