UVEX Fibre interface

Post by Andrew Smith »

I am interested in studying M Dwarf flare stars at very low resoultionand high cadance (20s exposures)
At normal levels the stars are IR dominated and when flaring UV dominated so the UVEX seems ideal. However, it would suit me to use my Shelyak fibre guide head.

Are there any studies of the UVEX with a fibre interface?

Hello Andrew,
the uvex is built for F/D output 8. The fiber induces a F/D output shorter of the order of f / d 4 it seems to me, so you will lose a lot in flux ... but it worth to test.

Bonjour Andrew,
