Call for observation for a new variable star

Matthieu Conjat has found a variable in his images that is not listed as a "variable star".
You can have a look on his post on this forum (sorry in French only) but you can see an animation on this variable target :

The coordinates of this very faint target (around mag 15,9) are :
alpha 09 56 13.83
delta +68 57 24.05
Low resolution spectra are welcome to identify this target and you can post yours result here in the aras forum.

Certainly looks similar Robin, it is too faint for my slitless system. I assume you will try for a spectrum.

If I ever get to see the stars again ! With this weather I have only observed on 6 nights so far this year and I think only none with conditions good enough for faint objects like this

Yes that's why I decided to take the rig to Pixelskies in Castillejar! I got 15 full nights in Jan and 19 in Feb

An extremely noisy (SNR~3
) ALPY 600 spectrum last night suggests an M type star (M3?)

Well done on such a faint star Robin, even with that SN ratio it looks fairly conclusive.

It was much harder than I expected. I recorded SN 2020ue at mag 14.5 and higher air mass the same night and got an SNR of ~30 so at mag 16 I expected an SNR of ~15. Either it is a fair bit fainter than that or the bright moonlight had a greater effect.

OK I see on the astrosurf forum it has been remeasured at V mag 17 (though brighter in the red) so this is the faintest object I have recorded with the ALPY in its standard configuration.
Olivier, can you post a link to my spectrum in the astrosurf thread ?
