Here is my old spectra from late January2019 (Alpy600 & LISA-Ir combined):
Will shoot it again...most likely from Mt. Pinos, CA 3 weeks from now because my east sky has too much obstruction.

Re: AX Per Stong outburst
Thank you François !
I hope to take advantage of a "break" through the clouds in the coming days to obtain a new spectrum of AX Per and, perhaps, detect the reappearance of the [FeVII] line at 6087A...
It's really exciting to see how evolve this binary system over the weeks !
Hello James,
Very interesting to discover the spectrum of AX Per in the infrared !
How did you go about combining the spectra of your Alpy and your LISA ?
I also have an east horizon little cleared from my garden...with a small "window" to observe !
I hope that we can be more numerous to be able to continue the monitoring of AX Per in the morning sky !
Spectroscopically...and clear skies !
Christophe

Re: AX Per Stong outburst
Hello all,
Finally, the clouds left me a small window of observation in the morning sky...
The spectrum below was obtained on June 13 at 00 h 50 TU (Alpy 600, resolution 503, JJ = 2458647.5352, 4 exposures of 300 s) :
Comparison of the spectra of May 12, June 1 and June 13 :
The decrease of the relative intensities of the spectral lines continues and... no sign of reappearance of the [FeVII] line at 6087A for the moment !
Clear skies,
Christophe BOUSSIN

Re: AX Per Stong outburst
Hello all,
This is my last update for AX Per !
The spectrum below was obtained on June 21 at 23 h 38 TU (Alpy 600, resolution 507, JJ = 2458656.485, 4 exposures of 300 s) :
Comparison of the spectra of June 1, June 13 and June 21 :
The relative intensities of the spectral lines have changed very little since June 13th (no sign of reappearance of the [FeVII] line at 6087A).
Clear skies,
Christophe BOUSSIN

Re: AX Per Stong outburst
Hello all,
With a little delay due to busy weeks, here is my last update for AX Per with two new spectra !
The first one was obtained on June 26 at 23 h 48 TU (Alpy 600, resolution 505, JJ = 2458661.4921, 12 exposures of 300 s) :
The second spectrum below was obtained on July 5 at 22 h 36 TU (Alpy 600, resolution 506, JJ = 2458670.4423, 14 exposures of 300 s) :
Comparison of the spectra of June 21, June 26 and July 5 :
For example, we can notice the increase in the relative intensity of the Halpha line between June 26th and July 5th, but still no sign of reappearance of the [FeVII] line at 6087A...
Clear skies,
Christophe BOUSSIN
