Nice party, you must have had a great fun!
Also a perfect object to compare the results.

Here is my last week's observation compared to previous:

Absorptions deepened further during this 20 day, and many of them have some RV loss.

Last spectrum taken during OHP spectro party with Stephane and Pascal with a lot of wind.

Hello,
Still a lot of clouds here, it is difficult to get more than 5 or 6 exposures at 1200s on a same night… This is the minimum required to get an acceptable S/N level with my Newton200mm.
You will find below the comparison between results of july16, july28 and august03. No major differences except a decrease of relative intensity on the blue side (temperature going down).

Image

The expansion velocity is also slowing down. The following picture shows a the graph near the Fe II 5169A line. For this line, the expansion velocity went down from 4000km/s on july16 to 3400 on august03 (rough estimate with measurement error around +/- 100kms/s). Previous measurements shows 4950km/s on july03 and 4630kms/s on july05.

Clear sky...

V = ((λ1 - λ0) / λ0 ) x c ) - vitesse héliocentrique - vitesse galactique NGC6946
V = (((6440.5 - 6562.8) / 6562.8) x 299792.458) - 8.5 - 49
V = - 5644 km/s
