This is from BaSS V1.96. Its the tool box used to format spectra data for BeSS/BAA database submission. I'm too lazy to individually correct the .FITS header, so I use
BaSS and it auto formats my spectra for me.....will transfer over to Isis for this function as well.

Still trying to get my non H-Alpha spectra processed by Isis, but is more difficult to processing these than the LISA spectra.

a fresh spectrum of SU Lyn from the last night. I'm doing also some BVR photometry with a cadence of 3-4 nights (one point per night for SU Lyn but also for AG Dra) but I don't know where to send the results. Maybe to the AAVSO database?

Hi, François,

I use HD 46608 (000-BBL-578) to do photometry (B:7.461; V:7.391 Rc:7.295). It's a good comparison star but you need a wide field scope to observe both stars. I use a 66/400 mm ED and a ST-8XME with the mandatory BVR Johnson-Cousins filters. At this precise moment I'm doing time-series photometry only in the B band, instead of a single-night point, in order to detect flickering or some kind of fast variations.

For spectroscopy I use 11 Lyn (HIP 31665 = HD 46590; A2 V according to Hipparcos catalogue). It's very near of SU Lyn, so I believe it's a good comparison star.

I'm getting my last shots in for SU Lyn.
Now that I'm getting more confident with Isis, I shot a 93 minute (9x600sec + 180sec) 2x2 binned spectra of this fascinating object last night.
Here is the result (spectra lines tentative!):


I got my spectra class for this star from the article: "SU Lyncis, a hard X-ray bright M giant: Clues point to a
large hidden population of symbiotic stars," by K. Mukai and associates; see:

Note that I added dA to the computed MKK spectral standard type of M5.8III, since an orbiting white dwarf close to 1-solar mass is the probable
source of hard x-rays for this system. A low gaussian filter was applied to make the spectra a little less "noisy looking."

The red spectrum is the standart M5.5 III VY Leo, for comparison

A 2 or 3 years monitoring will alow to determine the orbital elements




I suggest using the heliocentric velocity tool during the treatment.

Nice SU Lyn results François!
I'm a later comer to this campaign.....going to try AG Dra in Ha tonight as well.
Tomorrow I'll switch back to LISA spectroscopy.
