Little story about the publication of an ATel following the observation of SS433

On July 27th, an alert was issued about outburst of SS433

A day before, Stephane Charbonnel had made first a spectrum of this object and the 27th, we redid some spectra time serie of this objet at OHP, with three observers : Stéphane Charbonnel, James Edlin and me.

The evolution of H Alpha line was very fast, we saw the evolution each 10 minutes.H beta also moved but less significantly.
Each spectrum is a 10 minutes exposure and we followed this target overnight. All spectra taken with a LISA.

Quand je clique sur ton message, je ne vois pas de spectre, seulement un très beau rectangle tout blanc.
J'ai dû manquer quelque chose, mais quoi ?

Le rectangle tout blanc contient une anim de tout mes spectres de SS 4333 en gif.
Peut être que ton navigateur internet ne permet pas de visualiser du gif animé ?

Oui, c'est ça, en changeant de PC, cela fonctionne. Belle animation, peut être un peu rapide pour bien percevoir les détails de l'évolution.

Hello Olivier,

excellent results for such a weak target. Congratulations.
A question: I notice small wavelength shifts between individual spectra. Did you use a wide slit where the focused image of the stellar object can cause these wavelength shifts? In this case you might try to recalibrate the wavelength of the individual spectra by using some telluric absorption, e.g. the strong O2 band at 7600A if this is still recorded on the CCD. I do not know if you could do this automatically with ISIS. Some of the shift is probably caused by the change of the emission line profile, but it is difficult to tell if the whole variation is real without seeing a constant telluric absorption
Might be worth a try.

Bonjour à tous

Après plusieurs mois de disette spectro pour cause météo et emploi du temps, hier soir j'ai tester une nouvelle caméra de guidage plus sensible car avec l'Alpy600 çà descend vite en mag !

J'ai essayé sur le micro quazar ss433 sans être sûr d'obtenir quelque chose, mais le traitement fait tout (ou presque) !
Il y a 6 poses de 300s en binning 2x2
Mon setup est un bon C8 avec une atik 314L+ sur EQ6 et autoguidage perso (interface Ite-lente et soft goto_GapE).
la caméra testée est une petite SBIG ST-i prêtée par Ovision.

On notera un décalage spectral surtout dans le bleu. Je n'arrive toujours pas à utiliser l'outil calibration avec ISIS que ce soit en bin1x1 ou 2x2.
Je joins une version avec comparaison d'un spectre de Christian, il y a des différences après Halpha dans le rouge, je ne sais pas l'expliquer.

Voilà pour ma participation avec un premier spectre de ss433 .

You're right... I've doing calibration wavelength with only one Neon (but in fact, I've taken several Neon during all the night) and I've a shift during meridian change with my mount.
I'will try to calibrate my spectra more accurate as soon as possible.

Quelle étoile de ref utilises-tu pour ss433, car Altair en b1x1 comme dit François c'est pas l'idéal ?
Cela serait bien d'utiliser tous la même s'il y en a une sympa mag 4 - 5
