Re: Possible new Be star HD58859 (gaia21bsw / AT 2021itq
Hi, I have been reading this topic and tried my luck at this star at Bortle 6 sky. Spectrograph LISA @23µm slit on a TOA 130 with 0.6x reducer. 26 images with 300 seconds exposure time, biased, darkened and flattened and instrument response corrected using Menkalinan star. Re: ALPY/Lisa: 460Ex+414ex?
Hi Simon, I just made a series of 120 seconds exposures using my ASI 174MM (No cooling) @ an ambient temperature of 23.5°C. The star in the center is 37 Tau Here the wetransfer link for download https://wetransfer.com/downloads/cbbfd553b4f4d327ee3d3ee958df118220220222015328/53a82192ab2bb062eefb96647...

Re: ALPY/Lisa: 460Ex+414ex?
Hello Rainer, Awesome thanks a lot! Simon Hi Simon, I have the ASI 174MM on the guide port of a Lisa and so I can send you screenshots in *.fit format as PHD saves the images of the guide window in FIT. As soon as I hve clear sky I will do it. At the moment I see sm clouds here. Any special region ...

Re: ALPY/Lisa: 460Ex+414ex?
The thing is: for extra-faint targets (Mv=17 or even 18+), their positioning on the slit requires to see them with the guiding cam, which means exposures of 1 or 2 min maybe. On short exposures the 178mm that I use has roughly the same SNR as the 174mm (smaller pixels but smaller RON as well) but c...

Looks like both camera models are discontinued unless you find a used one.Une 314L+ est parfaite ou une ZWO174 refroidie doit bien marcher..

Re: ALPY/Lisa: 460Ex+414ex?
Hi Simon, I am using a ASI 174MM Mini on the guide port of my LISA and so far I find it very sensitive and low noise. I use PHD for guiding applying a dark pixel map. The 174 has a 5.86µm pixel size. With 1 or 2 seconds exposure time I do see in the guide window stars up to mag 10 without a problem....

Re: Urgent! NSv 6690 imminent SMBHB merger confirmation nee
A recently published paper suggests there may be a supermassive black hole merger in the Seyfert Galaxy SDSSJ1430+2303 (NSV 6690 in VSX) in the next three years or possibly even sooner- within 100-300 days. https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.11633 A low resolution spectrum from last night (ALPY200) suggest...

Re: Spectral calibration by using low cost optical fibers
Hi,
Interesting and simple.
Would this also work for using a Relco starter lamp ?
Thanks and regards Rainer
