Hi Everyone,
A new Supernova discovered last 2nd of April into NGC3147 (well placed for northern hemisphere observers), to share with you. Easy to catch at the begining of the evening, it reached to my estimation a Mag 16 (after a Mag 17.7 when discovered).
Link to get the coordinates : https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2021hpr
Here is a view of my guiding camera, through Astrometry.net :
After 6 pictures of 600 sec each, and star reference with HD107193, I obtained the following Spectra :
Despite noise (the seeing was excellent and clear sky but I think I reached the limit of my set up), we could recognize a type I b/c with broad lines. It also matched in Gelato database with the SN 2007ru,in term of continuum at least.
Hope this SN will continue to get much brighter in the coming days !
Cheers

Re: AT 2021hpr
Hi Frederic,
Take care when using classification programs. They are not always reliable. This is type Ia, not 1b/c
I took ALPY200 spectra of this object on 20210403 at ~mag 17(also in TNS) and 20210412 (last night) at ~mag 14.5
The strong broad SiII absorption line characteristic of type Ia supernovae is clear (at 6000A in the earlier spectrum and 6150 A now) and SNID confirms with high confidence that it is a type Ia at the host galaxy redshift from both my spectra
Cheers
Robin

Re: AT 2021hpr
Hi Jean-Philippe,
Thanks a lot for your post
Getting serious but limit of my humble skywatcher 250mm has been reached apparently ! I should have increased exposures. Particularly when I see the nice spectra of Robin.
And too cloudy at the moment to do it again, unfortunately.
Hope you are doing good.
Cheers.
Fred
