Making Some Progress With Demetra

Post by Richard Brown »

Hi,
I'm starting to make some progress using Demetra to do the data reduction for spectra that I obtained with my Alpy 600 and I've attached some of my new profiles. These are snapshots that I got after I ran the Data Reduction. I plan on submitting my spectra to AAVSO, but I had a few problems that I had to work out-mainly the profile has to be submitted in FITS format and the FITS header has to have my observer code, equipment, site, etc and I find out that they had to be entered into the Session Parameters. It's been cloudy and haven't been able to make any observation, but as soon as it clears I will do that. The first thing that has to be done with AAVSO is submit a Standard Star from their list. Zeta Her is one choice-which I have a profile of, which I've attached-but it is in png format. I feel like I'm entering a new phase in my observing. Onward and upward and always challenges-I need to figure out an auto-guiding system-maybe PHD2.
Thanks
Dick
