Foggy weather, 3 hours exposure (overweighted the last 1 hour where had much better SNR).
This is the first real test of the new ATIK 414EXM:

Slit a bit shifted (quick setup), guided on a different star:

I had lots of trouble with calibrating the ATIK 414 images, had to bin a few columns (make an average of a few neighbour positions) that was only the way I coould fix those few variable columns to get rid of some artifacts (resolved by programming work).
I will summarize these later.

Hi Peter,

I think I would be returning the camera to ATIK if the CCD had several column defects.

I am also interested in the quality of the flat in terms of ripples (fringes) in the spectral response of the ICX825 CCD. They are very weak with my ATK314L+ (ICX285) but are seen in low resolution spectra with cameras using the ICX694 sensor.

Cheers
Robin

Robin,

I've created new topic on 414EXM now and put there some material.

Very nice spectrum of a cv in outburst, Peter
What was the mag of the object when you got the spectrum ?
François

Francois, not much data in aavso yet, looking at more days LCG generator it must have fallen quickly towards 12.8 mag.
I expect more data should be available soon by local variable observers.
