Hello to all ARAS members
My name is Thomas Blank and I am living in Schwerzenbach, Switzerland.
I have been interested in astronomy since my school day, where an enthusiastic physic teacher drew my interest in astronomy.
Since this 'kick-off' I have been practicing astronomy for more than 25 years, starting with visual observations and astrophotography.
My interest in spectroscopy awakes when the swiss spectroscopy group was founded 2009 and I realized that amateurs are able to expand their field of activity in this direction providing spectra's even for the professionals.
In the meantime I built up my own garden observatory. The main instruments are:
Telescopes: Celestron C11, Pentax 75
Mount: CGE
Camera: SBIG ST-2000, ALCCD5
Spectrograph: Lhires III in mid and high resolution
One of my spectroscopic highlight was definitely the observation of nova Del 2013 that gave me the possibility to feed the ARAS database with my spectras.
