Eshell spectra of the dot filly lamp

Post by Thierry Garrel »

Hello,
i made a 120min exposure on the orange dot filly lamp with an eshell. The calibration on the thor arg lines is better then 0.01A RMS and the mean resolution is about 10000, lesser in the blue and higher in the red. A lot of not blended lines are available for calibrating low and high resolution spectra from 4300 to 7350A.
I used the filly lamp for HeII blue region, 4686A, with a 2400gr LhiresIII more than 7 lines available and with my new 150g/mm for low res spectra. Typical calibration exposure with a circular reflective dome-screen covering the entire aperture of my CN212 is 4s in low resolution and 10s in high res.
Fit file/dat files on my blog

On s'occupe...Du coup je spectrographie tout ce qui me tombe sous la main.
En pus avec le mini spectro de poche je me balade dans les magasins l'oeil rivé sur les lampes, surtout les bleues :D Chasse infructueuse jusqu'à présent.

Thank you for this Thierry. It will be vey useful. I started doing something similar with my filly lamp and the LHIRES but never finished it. It is much easier to do it in one exposure with the eShel

Cheers

Thanks for the comment.
Robin, do you think that the blue model, the cross, is available in UK ? It was announced in France for October but not arrived indeed :(

Unfortunately all the Habitat shops have closed in the UK and the UK website does not list the Filly lamp at all now
