ASAS-SN 17oz an unusual variable

I was alerted by Dr Subo Dong of the ASAS-SN survey team of an object 17oz which is behaving rather oddly. It is was mag 16 star with no record of variability but has been rising steadily over the past few weeks to mag 14. Light curve and details here
https://asas-sn.osu.edu/light_curves/ef ... 7bb4b76730
suggests it may have now peaked.

Here is my ALPY600 spectrum from Saturday night. A rather featureless blue continuum (~A7) with a small H alpha emission line.
Subo is calling for more spectra if possible as it fades.

Cheers
Robin

Hi Robin, congratulations for the observation (it’s a difficult target!), also for the ATel:

Very similar to a dwarf nova profile...
