Spectre à haute résolution de Rigel demandé
Bonjour
Je vous forward un message de Jean-Pierre Rivet, qui est astronome à l'observatoire de la Côte d'Azur ;

A page is opened in the database: http://www.astrosurf.com/aras/Aras_Data ... betOri.htm
The spectra must be sent to Olivier Garde who will forward the files

Re: Spectre à haute résolution de Rigel demandé
Echelle spectrum obtained on 2020-01-19
Lines identification:
H alpha evolution:
About H alpha variability, see e.g. Morrison+, 2008 :
https://publishup.uni-potsdam.de/opus4- ... icle34.pdf
Rigel is a hot, luminous star that is well known to
show mass loss. Studies of the Mg II resonance lines
have shown its terminal wind speed to be about
230 km s−1 (Kaufer et al. 1996b). According to
Gilheany (1991), Mg II in this star shows episodes
of increased mass-loss rate and edge velocity, as well
as DAC-like behavior. Hα is also well known to be
highly variable, with profile morphologies ranging
from P Cygni to double-peaked to inverse P Cygni
(Kaufer et al. 1996b, Israelian et al. 1997).
An easy and interesting target!

Re: Spectre à haute résolution de Rigel demandé
English version below :
http://www.astrosurf.com/aras/Aras_Data ... betOri.htm
English version :
Don’t miss the spectral measurement campaign on Rigel in addition to the OCA experimentation in interferometry.
This is the moment that we need to realize as many spectra as possible.
Those already produce are in the ARAS database:
http://www.astrosurf.com/aras/Aras_Data ... betOri.htm
To do with an LHIRES III and the 2400gr/mm grating centered on H Alpha, or with a 1200gr/mm grating to have HeI 6678 line at the same time.
Echelle spectra are also welcome.
Olivier Garde

Cordialement
Pierre
