Hi,

After finally finding the Nova Per 2020 tesyerday night and esposing it for 75 minutes I got this result.

10x 180s exposure and 9x 300s all processed together into one final image using PixInsight with BIAS, DARK and FLAT in two versions.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Hi Rainer,

Could you send me the fit of the spectrum (and an image of the processed image) for a check?

Thanks in advance

François

Hi,

I found Christian Buil paper about instrument response and after a few times reading it I did a instrument response profile which looks like this for my LISA, QSI 520i and TOA 130 using the lamp from the calibration unit as well as for the long method I took the star Alpheratz B9p.

Instrument response curve

Then I applied that curve as a correction onto my only BIAS and DARK treated Nova Per 2020 spectrum and the result is as below and I guess it looks better ¿? the graph goes from 3800Å to 7750Å.

Hi,

I was able to shoot Nova Per 2020 again on December 10 = blue line.

Here a comparison between both days.

Hi,

Still good weather and here a comparison of Nova Per from 16 and 17/12.

LISA on TOA 130 @ 600mm and camera QSI 520i.

Lots of fun.

Hi,

I have been making some spectra of Nova Per 2020 and the result of yesterday gave me a split line around 7230 Ångström. Is that correct or is there a failure in my RAW fit image ?

Thanks for any comment

I wish you al a better Year 2021 the the one we had ;)

regards Rainer

Hi,

Yesterday I made another image from NovaOer 2020 and compared to the one of December 2. The lines at about 7230 sre still split so I guess it is not my RAW images but a feature of the Fe lines there ?

Red is January 3rd and blue is January 2nd.

Both profiles were made fom 10 images each with 300 seconds.

Thanks for any comment

Rainer
