Re: Nova Monocerotis 2012
il me semble ?).

Re: Nova Monocerotis 2012

Hi,
A new spectrum of nova Mon taken the October 2, with a C9 telescope and a LISA spectrograph :
Clearly, the magnitude is relatively stable and the spectrum change only slowly.

Re: Nova Monocerotis 2012
A spectrum taken the October 7 by using LHIRES 3 spectrograph (2400 l/mm):
Also, an instructive comparison between low and high resolution spectro on the same object nearly at the same date:
Note the very complementary contents.

I began the analysis of our spectra (Christian, Jim, Stéphane, Olivier and I)Christian Buil wrote:Hi,

The evolution of nova Mon 2012 is very close to Nova Vel 1999 another ONe nova
See for instance [OIII] 4959 + 5007 intensity (relative to H Béta = 100)
Horizontal scale = days after maximum luminiosity (supposed to be 22 june 2012 for Nova Mon 2012)
Nova Vel 1999
Nova Mon 2012
Evolution of lines should become faster in 50/100 days.
The other lines (Ne, He, OI ...) on : http://www.astronomie-amateur.fr/feuill ... alyse.html
So let's go on

Re: Nova Monocerotis 2012
A gauche : nova Vel 1999
A droite : nova Mon 2012

Aras page updated with a spectrum obtained by Jim Edlin
The decline is very slow. Current V mag = 11.4
An article, like an interim rapport, to be published in AFOEV review : http://www.astronomie-amateur.fr/Result ... on2012.pdf
