Hello,

Before retiring in 1999, I taught high school astronomy and geology for 34 years. I have been an active variable star observer for over 30 years and have been a member in AAVSO throughout this period. I began ccd photometry about 15 years ago and just recently started doing spectroscopy. My primary interest has been photometry of CVs .

I have an observatory that houses both a 12” and a 10” SCT. I use the 12” for spectroscopy and the 10” for photometry. I am gaining experience in spectroscopy by taking spectra of Be Stars. My ultimate goal is to use both scopes simultaneously to see what spectral changes might coincide with magnitude changes.

As both an amateur astronomer and geologist, I think I can safely say that “astronomy rocks”!!
