If you intend to obtain an AVI while using a LhiresIII spectrograph, then remove the guide camera....
It is not necessary to use any added filters before the entrance slit - the amount of light/ energy transmitted through the 15 micron slit gap is very small. This is then spread across the spectrum.
I have a SimSpec SHG spreadsheet available to assist in evaluating the solar image size and probable resolution....
Once the AVI has been processed to a final image corrections can be applied to "improve" it.
