Spectrum taken using the 0.28 m telescope and
Alpy600 spectrograph (10 A resolution at 6563 A)
from Castanet-Tolosan observatory the Mar. 11.130 UT
shows highly redened profile and strong P-Cyg shifted toward
blue by 610 km/s for Halpha and 585 km/s for O I 777.4 nm lines:

Here is mine from a few hours earlier (rather low, skimming the trees)
Cheers

Here is the evolution (in absolute flux using AAVSO V mag as reference)
It is getting hard to guide on the slit at mag 12.5 (3sec exposures on the DSI Pro) and there do not seem to be any alternative field stars
Cheers

Here's a spectrum of this nova taken last night at OHP observatory with C14 Lisa spectrograph and ATIK460EX

Nice spectrum at mag 14. Not easy.

A medium resolution of nova Cephei taken the 15 May,
(R = 2200 - 4 x 600 seconds exposure - C11 + MedRES):
Large evolution compared to Tim's spectra ? To be confirmed...

New spectrum taken last night with the same instrument (MODRES - 8 x 600 sec on C11). Comparison with may May 15
spectrum:
The relative intensity of Halpha increase now slowly. More obsrervations needed
(and a fine photometric survey of the continuum is welcome also for interpret).

Hello again,
I had very good seeing for my May 20th nova cep shot so I decided to convert the spectrum to flux.
My slit is 2.3 arcsec wide and seeing was about 1.8 arcsec so slit efficiency was pretty good and fairly constant.
I used HD195725 as the standard. It has a V magnitude of 4.22 in SIMBAD and is about 7 degrees from nova cep.
The airmass varied from 1.56 to 1.36 for the nova cep exposures and was 1.24 for HD195725. I did not correct for this.
After multiplying by the Bessel V curve and extracting the magnitude back out I get an mV of 14.82.
This agrees very well with the AAVSO light curve.
