Thanks Robin
I have a few tests to run when the weather clears. Will report back shortly

Re: Temperature and calibration
Pierre and Robin Apologies for the delay in responding – I was keeping an eye on my post in the UVEX Project subgroup and didn’t see your posts till late last night. In my view there are 2 issues to consider here – hardware and software/wetware ie does the UVEX calibration shift with temperature and...

Re: Outburst of SS73 141
My spectrum from last night - 11 September 2021.
Balmer lines remain redshifted but less so than last week. Its another noisy spectrum - just over an hour's integration time - so its hard to pick up much other than HeI at 5875 and 6678.

Re: AR Pav in outburst
I've continued to monitor the outburst of AR Pav. All observations were taken with UVEX with 600 lines/mm grating on a PW CDK 12.5. I have switched the grating angle a couple of times which has meant that not all observations are directly comparable. That said, there is a reasonable spread of data t...

Re: GAIA transient GAIA21dxg / TNS AT2021wui
Robin and Hamish I for one have found this an extremely helpful series of posts. Apart from the discussion about TNS (the operation of which was a mystery to me), the worked example on determining extinction and using that and public data about magnitude to check up on a spectral classification was ...

Re: GAIA transient GAIA21dxg / TNS AT2021wui
Here is my contribution with a few lines of interest marked. About 2 hours taken with UVEX 600 lines/mm on a PW CDK 12.5. I have dereddened the spectrum using the ISIS Extinction tool applying a factor of 1.15 as suggested by Robin. Resolution reported by ISIS is 1024. SNR measured with the FWHM too...

Re: Symbiotic recurrent nova RS Oph in ourburst !!!
Another RS Oph - taken last night.
I have marked the features that Francois has highlighted as well as [OIII] noted in Steve Shore's recent ATel.

Re: AR Pav in outburst
Here is a quick update on the AR Pav outburst. This represents only 40 minutes exposure from last night - again, taken with a UVEX 600 lines/mm grating on a CDK 12.5. I've marked most of the same emission lines as last week's spectrum (I've committed a few of the Fe II as the plot gets busy). The cl...

Re: Outburst of SS73 141
OK - I didn't appreciate how much of a challenge this target would be. When I read "outburst" I thought it would be nice and bright - I should have checked the light curve! The last ASAS-SN record has it at mag 13.3 in the g band last Sunday. My UVEX grating is currently centred at around ...

Re: AR Pav in outburst
Here is another spectrum of AR PAV - this time in the UV. There are clear P Cygni profiles for the Balmer lines as well as prominent HeI and FeII lines. I've marked OII at 4414.9A though I'm uncertain whether this is correct as it requires an ionisation energy above the other emission lines. Similar...
