AZ Cas...

Post by Paolo Berardi »

... however dinner time is dinner time! ;)

(IPAD with remote control for safety reasons...)

My first test with 23 micron slit. I hope the loss of light is not excessive. In a single 960 sec subframes, SNR seems not so bad.

(post your processed spectrum at the occasion and send to Olivier T. - for the moment the raw image seem very
well exposed - and the cooking excellent also !)

Hi Christian! Despite the wine I managed to finish spectra acquisition... :D

This is the result (I sent profile to Olivier):

I don't well understand... The higher resolution seems to suffer the less SNR (in addition here I exposed for less than other 35 um spectra). Maybe I'll go back to 35 micron slit. In case of weather changes during the night (clouds passage or when the sky becomes overcast) perhaps it is more likely to reach a sufficient result.

See you soon and good luck for AZ Cas eclipse observations (also to all forum member)!

AZ Cas again...

After prof Galan invitation to observe the eclipse III-rd contact, I took advantage of a rare moment of clear skies. Clouds came just in time for me to complete a set of 8 subexposures... I was very lucky!

I hope the weather gets better, this winter was a disaster...
