Hello at all,

This is the mechanical part almost finished, next step is anodizing these pieces, and finding the optical elements.

Cheers, Joan.

Hello,

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the last optical components, Toni has made an electronic set for moving the stepper half-wave retarder motor, all tested with Toni's software, which contains 22.5º pitch movements and position resets.

Its supply is 12V and is connected to the computer by wi-fi.

Cheers, Joan

Hello,

You can see these pictures of The Giver, the low-resolution spectropolarimeter, it's ready to mount its optical components. At the moment it's only a set of aluminum pieces.

Cheers, Joan.

Hello,

Slowly, The Giver spectropolarimeter is going, it's placed on the telescope for its first partial test, still lacks a lot of work to adjust it.

I'm very excited about this instrument's possibilities.

Every idea and suggestion will be welcome.

Cheers, Joan.

Hi Robin,

Many thanks for your words. But the project hasn't finished yet.

It lacks now the very important part of The Giver, its software, without it The Giver is only one useless and mindless box.

Fortunately, there exist other people who are working hard and with enthusiasm, making this project software,
I'm very proud to know them.

The best, Joan.

Hi Joan,
Wow, this is an amazing piece of work you’ve done! Truly impressive!
Your first results are also very encouraging.
The weather at my place has been terrible for several months… Really sad, as I also have a linear spectropolarimetry project that I’d like to complete.

Cheers
Guillaume
