Hello from Kansas

Post by EdWiley »

All all:

I have a small observatory in Lawrence, Kansas, USA. Most of my research has been directed towards measuring and studying double stars, publishing in the Journal of Double Star Observations. I have also contributed photometric data to the AAVSO, mostly on eclipsing binaries. Jim Edlin has encouraged me to try spectrometry. I tried some SA100 work with DSLRs and found the data interesting and there seems to be plenty of useful science data to be collected once I convince myself I can obtain reliable data. So, I am planning on purchasing an ALPY600 with guiding and calibration. I will be using a Schmidt-Newtonian (200mm, F4) on a Losmandy G11.

A Comment: As a beginner I have found Christian Buil's tutorials very educational and I would like to thank him for both the quality of ISIS and the quality of the tutorials. Working through the tutorials gave me confidence that I could do this kind of research.
