Why no email notifications?

Why no email notifications?

I should know the answer to this, but I don't:
I'm subscribed to all the forums listed on the front index page, but not to any specific topics under each forum, but I don't receive any email notifications regarding new postings. What could be the reason?

I'm not sure why but since I posted my last message I have started to receive email notifications :)
