HI all,

Very excited to get on this forum.

I am in the process of building a UVEX with a Calibrex unit. UVEX is complete and I have been testing it with some discharge lamps and comparing my spectra with the results for an Ocean Optics spectrometer - very comparable!

I am waiting on a few parts for the Calibrex unit. Are there any other north american residents on here that can recommend a source for the transformer? I have checked Newark and Allied with no luck.

Word to the wise - do not order the 1.5 A version thinking it will be ok- it is not the same size and will not fit the board.

Finally, I am quite new to observing - I was assigned to tech our intro astronomy courses about 5 years and had to learn how to use the telescopes. Down the rabbit hole I went. I would be most grateful for a suggestion of a first target to cut my teeth on with the UVEX. I am at 45 N.
