Hello,

We are in the tuning stage of The Giver, fortunately, Martin Dubs gave me some suggestions and tips about TheGiver improvement.

Follow them, I can show their results here. in some steps.

Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,

The graphics sight changes, it depends on the form reduction used.

Hello,

Fortunately, I have the luck of counting with the help and teaching of Martin Dubs.

So he corrected me about other erroneous interpretations about the "emission" lines in
some Bet Uma graphics and gave me the solution.

The correct way is that all were the result of a divergent position of the halfwave plate
and the Wollaston prism ones as you can see in these images.

Slowly I became more aware of how TheGiver works.

Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,

One finds the most exact point during the optical collimation job of any optical device, the success depends
sometimes on the experience, knowledge, and also of the quantity of components that one has faced.

TheGiver isn't different as you can see here the components that come into play, I believe that I tested and checked
all the possibilities, in addition, it has had a training and learning time for me.

It seems impossible that the light would allow herself to be manipulated in such a "perverse" way.

Then, after some holiday days, TheGiver observation time is coming, if the weather improves on this corner
of the Mediterranean Sea.

Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,

Eventually, TheGiver spectropolarimeter is well collimated and ready for observation now.

The results are extracted first by ISIS to obtain the spectra of every 22.5º step position.
The second step is by POLARIMETRIC, to obtain the polarization % and Theta angle.

Only lack to solve a little problem with the depicts of non-polarized stars. We don't have any
problems with polarized stars in this way, you can see the next graphics.

Best regards, Joan.

Hello,
Slowly, I'm going to take more confidence, and practice with TheGiver,
it's easy to arrive at the 8 Visual magnitude.

Fortunately, it works well, you can see here two Be Stars examples.

Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,

These may be the last TheGiver setups after this test time when we have received a lot of very useful advice, tips, and suggestions
from a lot of people, who without their help TheGiver haven't been possible.

In this way, I like to show you in this first picture the Polarimetric software features and options.
I would highlight the Gaussian smooth filter one, it could be sometimes very useful.
Also, it's necessary to remember that Polarimetric needs to receive the spectra FITS files processed, and it's very useful
to see and compare the outcomes by PlotSpectra. Picture one

In the way to achieve more resolution TheGiver 300 l/mm. grating, it has changed to a 600 l/mm. one, as you can see here,
Picture two.

You can see here the good stable results by two different gratings and days, also if we have had on account the bad transparency
of the sky due to cirrus during the 2025 06 04 night. Picture three.

From my point of view, we could decide from this picture the very low instrumental polarization values. Picture four.

Eventually, as a curiosity, I would like to show these Bet Uma polarization graphics and their Gaussian 100-value replicas.
We hope that it will be useful for analysts sometimes. Picture five.

Cheers, J Guarro.

Hello,

I believe that the observational training time is almost over, as samples you can see Gam Boo and HD157978 observations here.

The next target is HD161056, another HPOL database star

Cheers, JG.
