Melchiors HD205021B is incorrect - do not use

The spectrum of HD205021B (BD+69 1173B/bet Cep B) in the Melchiors library is not correct. It is either of the wrong star or is heavily contaminated by bet Cep, 13 arcsec away. (It also shows data reduction ripple artifacts) https://set-p-stweb.bm.icts.kuleuven.be/quicklook/893741_A1V_BD+691173B.png...

Re: Reference Star Finder

I have just changed from V2 to V3a and see the same problem (ReferenceStarFinder_V3a Excel 2019 Win 10) Michel Tasse modification "j'ai donc tenté de remplacer la formule dans la cellule V3 : "=(GSTL-T3)" par "=(temp!B9-T3)" gives the correct height for the target star but t...

Thanks for the reminder Hugh ! The periastron previous to that one was also followed in 2008-9 by the same "Convento" pro-am team. https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2011MNRAS.418....2F/abstract Here is what happened to the flat topped CIII line as the winds collided WR140_CIII_animation_fa...

A Type Ia so could reach mag 12 depending on extinction

AT 2024muv a possible supernova in NGC4699 mag 14.5

If you are far enough south (not visible for me) a possible supernova AT 2024muv in NGC4699 has been discovered at mag 14.5

Now a year old so here is a spectrum in the nebula phase at V mag ~18 (tough in moonlight and the twilight skies here at this time of year) SN2023ixf_20240518_poster.png Here is the animation from September 2023 - February 2024 showing it moving into the nebular phase 20240215_143932_2cb43a334f03.gi...
