A possible supernova AT2023ijd in NGC4568 just announced by  the ASAS-SN team.

It appeared within the last 24 hours so caught early at mag 16.8 but is likely to be brightening fast and at only ~18Mpc this could get pretty bright (A type 1a could reach ~mag 12)

Now confirmed as type II (LT SPRAT),  Also consistent with a low resolution ALPY200 spectrum taken last night in poor conditions (twilight, high cloud) which shows a blue continuum and no obvious Si II absorption
